Who We Serve
Who We Serve
Service and Relationships
We work with individuals seeking a high level of service who are looking for a long-term relationship with an advisor that they trust to help them reach their financial goals.
We have substantial experience working with professionals, especially physicians and attorneys, business owners and corporate executives, as well as individuals experiencing a major life event. We also have been actively engaged with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) for over 20 years.
Why Do Clients Come To Us?
Clients come to us because they are frustrated or confused. Their CPA does their tax return, their attorney does an estate plan, they own insurance and they have a stockbroker or investment adviser. However none of these trusted professionals are talking to each other. The client can’t remember why they did an estate plan, the ownership of their assets is not coordinated with their estate plan, they don’t know the beneficiaries of their estate plan and they don’t know whether they have enough money to retire, They need help! Today, individuals need someone to coordinate all the information and tell them what it means. That’s what we do.
We are the conductor orchestrating all the separate parts in an integrated way that sounds beautiful to the client.
We Understand Physicians
In our work with professionals we understand many things:
- You worked hard to get where you are.
- You don't want to work forever.
- You may not have a single large asset to sell for liquidity at the end of your career.
Planning for Those Without Time
Crafting the right accumulation plan during both your early years right out of school and your later years as you look toward cutting back or retiring completely is the difference between financial success and financial distress. We understand the long hours you put into your career and fully recognize that you do not have much time to dedicate to your own planning. We have the experience and tools to help you make the key decisions you need to make.
We Already Work With Many Physicians
We are fortunate to work with many physicians and other medical professionals, helping them as they begin to plan their journey into and through retirement. More specifically, we have numerous clients within the orthopedic community and have been actively engaged with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons for over twenty years. Having specialized in providing financial solutions to the medical community for many years, we understand their special needs and have devised plans which can enable them to retire and move through their financial lives smoothly and without worry.
- Should I modify repayment of school loans in favor of other opportunities?
- Should I buy out my practice partners or sell my share of the practice?
- How do I value the practice for purchase or sale?
- What is the best structure for a purchase or sale that benefits all parties?
- How might owning our own facility help our current practice
- What kind of long term opportunities and challenges will I face?
We Understand Attorneys
In our work with professionals we understand many things:
- You worked hard to get where you are.
- You don't want to work forever.
- You may not have a single large asset to sell for liquidity at the end of your career.

We Already Work With Many Attorneys
We are fortunate to work with many Attorneys. From In-house counsel, large firm associates and partners and even sole practitioners. All roles have their planning challenges and opportunities. Having experience in providing financial solutions to the legal community for many years, we understand their special needs and have devised plans which can enable them to retire and move through their financial lives smoothly and without worry.
We have extensive experience in helping our clients with the decisions that come up in their lives. Questions they are often faced with may include ones such as these:
- Should I modify repayment of school loans in favor of other opportunities?
- How do I balance debt repayment with other medium and long term goals.
- How do I make best use of my company or firm benefit package.
- How do I structure my firm retirement plan to help accomplish my goals and defer taxes?
- How am I addressing potential liabilities that might come up in my practice.
- What kind of long term opportunities and challenges will I face?
As a business owner, you have worked hard to build your company. We are here to help make sure that what you have spent years building will last you far into the future. Our approach is about more than managing assets. We help you understand the value of your highly prized business and have ongoing conversations about how it plays into your financial future. We have asset protection strategies to help you each step of the way. Whether your goal is to pass your business or professional assets intact to your heirs or to plan for a liquidity event in the future, we will help you establish a strategy that feels right to you.
We Can Help With Decisions
As an owner you have many decisions that we can help with when you need us. For example:
- How can I structure our retirement plan to retain talent, benefit owners and maintain some level of flexibility?
- Am I structuring our non-financial benefits in the best way to address the needs of the company?
- Are they coordinated or a hodge-podge of products sold to me over the years?
- Do I need to review the ways to own my interest in the business to address my short term financial needs and long-term estate planning concerns?
Whether you are on your way up or already part of Senior Management, working for a public company can have special challenges and opportunities. Reviewing annual compensation plans is part of our process. Having much of your net worth linked to one stock whether though option plans, phantom stock, stock appreciation rights, or restricted stock, requires a plan that needs to be carefully crafted.
Managing Opportunities
We will help craft a strategy that will make the most of your opportunities while managing the risks of stock concentration. Our process will address several of your unique opportunities and answer some very specific questions like these:
- What is my total percentage exposure to my own stock and how does it relate to my overall portfolio?
- What opportunities do I have to diversify or hedge my stock concentration?
- How can I best manage the tax consequences of my option exposure?
- How can I take my various sources of compensation and plan for my future?
We regularly work with individuals going through an out-of-the-ordinary event in their lives. Often, you need help in planning your next steps. During these times you can feel overwhelmed, stressed and confused by the options available to you. We will be there to help guide you and get you through this challenging time. Life transitions may include:
- Change in jobs or career
- Marriage
- Birth of a child
- Divorce
- Death of a spouse
- Retirement
- Inheritance
